From Ushaw With Love, Life After Coal – YouTube

Published on 9 Oct 2014

A short film made over the summer in the North East of England. A beautiful place full of beautiful people. This is a small collection of memories. At its heart the film really wants people to engage with society and become more involved in there own communities.  Above all it is a very human project. “Neil Woodward”

Yeah… I agree… Just came across it today. Be sure to comment on his video on YouTube and leave him some cred.

My personal view is that in no way does this film represent either the people nor the ethos of the village where I was born and lived.. It is a add-hock collection of individuals and derelict properties with a highly forgettable script. It features prominently a ‘ reformed ‘ armed robber and violence merchant who even now raises laughter recalling the time he burgled his own school. I found it quite insulting but other people obviously disagree.

Well, Dave liked it so to date approval is muted. As for me I have a thumb down for the film. It was patronising, negative and poorly narrated.
