Big meeting passenger trains, Club trips, Durham Johnston School pupils passenger train Monday to Friday except school holidays, coal trains, Jack Railton the Stationmaster and Johnny Hammill the Signalman and the half door of the Station Office. Small freight lorries, 5 wheels, three on the lorry and two on the trailer (Dennis or Scammells) in their British Rail livery. Gal lights at the station which I never saw lit. The path which ran from the Station down the side of the embankment to the New Brancepeth road. The two lady teachers who taught at New Brancepth Junior and Infants school and who lived in one of the Station houses and who grew sunflowers. Brian Mc
