12.07.1935 – Ushaw Moor Colliery Chimney Demoltion

Ushaw Moor road between the Colliery Yard gates and the Colliery managers house. The managers house is still in situ. The small White brick methodist Chapel stood on the Ushaw Moor road a few yards from the Managers house. The Colliery manager was Mr Wilson when I was a lad. He had three children, Angela,Hugh and I think the other land was named Ian. The field in the foreground was grazed by the pit ponies when the colliery was on holiday.
